December Folkus
As we reach the end of the year, this month is all about looking back at how far you’ve come. December gives you a chance to pause, take stock of your brushwork, and notice the progress that can be easy to overlook when you’re moving from lesson to lesson.
This module focuses on helping you review your skills and deepen them in simple, manageable ways. You’ll be working with a mix of familiar Academy activities and a few new ones designed to gently stretch your confidence.
Here’s what we’ll explore together:
Brush control and the core strokes you’ve been building
Preparing and painting on different surfaces, including the mediums that support a clean finish
Techniques with the rake and stipple brushes
A refresher on colour theory to help you make confident choices in your projects
December isn’t about racing ahead. It’s about grounding yourself in what you know, strengthening the foundations you’ve already laid, and giving yourself space to recognise the painter you’re becoming.
